THE COMPANY’S THIRD PUBLIC LOCATION

Cloud and edge service provider G-Core Labs, has just launched a new public cloud region in Ashburn, Virginia.

G-Core was known solely as a cloud content delivery specialist for the entertainment industry and media business until November last year, when the company expanded its portfolio into offering public cloud and data center services. Starting with its first public cloud facility in Luxembourg, G-Core launched its second location in Moscow in March 2020.

“We are now focused on scalability and providing multiple locations with minimal latency,” said Vsevolod Vayner, head of cloud platforms at G-Core Labs.

“Our goal is to become a single virtual data center for our clients, accessible from anywhere in the world. At the same time, the launch of cloud point in Ashburn is especially important for the development of G-Core Labs public cloud infrastructure, because the USA is world leader in opening new areas of applications of cloud solutions and in scale of their implementation.”

G-Core further announced that it now provides virtual machines with Windows and Linux operating systems that act as a remote workstation for developers or other users. This service was introduced due to the increase in demand for cloud-based remote work solutions which is influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company also said it will soon add the automatic deployment of Kubernetes clusters for container orchestration in addition to executing complete integration of the platform for training and launching models in the field of artificial intelligence, as well as completing systems for processing big data based on Hadoop clusters.

G-Core plans to launch more cloud regions across the globe with Frankfurt, Singapore, Sydney, Santa Clara, Sao Paolo and Khabarovsk – forming its priority list.

The company is simultaneously expanding its network infrastructure portfolio as it launched its PoP in South Africa at a Tier III data center about 7 months ago, where G-Core provides access to dedicated servers and other hosting services.
