Asia Pacific data center solutions provider, Big Data Exchange (BDx), has just announced its plan to develop a new 100MW hyperscale data center campus on a 12-acre site located in Suryacipta, Jakarta, Indonesia, further expanding its presence across the Asia-Pacific region.

Codenamed CGK5, the new datacenter campus is to become part of the company’s third availability zone (AZ) while complementing BDx Indonesia’s existing four data centers in and around the capital city of Jakarta which were acquired through a US$300 million joint venture agreement between BDx, PT Indosat Tbk (Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison or IOH) and PT Aplikanusa Lintasarta, and launched in June 2022.

“As we prepare to break ground on our 100MW greenfield Suryacipta campus in this dynamic market, BDx Indonesia upholds its commitment to support Digital Indonesia and continue its rapid journey of expansion and innovation,” said Mayank Srivastava, CEO of BDx and Interim President Director of BDx Indonesia.

“Being the only data center provider offering three availability zones, we are proud to provide our hyperscale and enterprise customers with the highest level of capacity and connectivity, world-class data center operations together with sustainable solutions supporting their growth in this region.”

As announced, the new data center campus CGK5, marks a major milestone in BDx Indonesia’s Expansion plans – a collaboration agreement between BDX, IOH and Lintasarta, which include the establishment of a new data center and cloud-focused operation in Indonesia, reached during the close of BDx’s US$300 million investment deal in May, 2022.

“Congratulations to BDx Indonesia. Suryacipta is proud to be chosen as the home of the new data center campus, CGK5. We look forward to the new opportunities this new facility will provide across this market,” said Abednego Purnomo, Vice President Sales & Marketing, Suryacipta Swadaya, a property development company.

BDx intends to build the new data center campus CGK5, with ‘state-of-the-art’ technology based on the company’s proprietary design standard, targeting customers from multiple industries including financial services, hyperscalers, telecom operators and government organizations as well as to provide location diversity and a network-dense interconnection ecosystem for its hyperscale customers.
