ITS FOURTH DATA CENTER IN THE CITY

Asia Pacific data center solutions provider, Big Data Exchange (BDx), has just announced its plan to develop new 16MW data center facility in Kwai Chung District, Hong Kong.

Codenamed HKG8, the new data center will be sited in the upcoming high-tech industrial area being developed by Sino Group, a leading property developer in Hong Kong, with the intention of serving hyperscale and enterprise customers.

“As we complete the construction of our 191,000 square-feet industrial building, we are proud to welcome BDx as our major tenant. Recent years saw the thriving development of innovation and technology, and Industry 4.0 has quickly become a global trend,” said Bella Chhoa, Director of Asset Management of Sino Group.

“Amid these developments, Sino Group launched a brand-new industrial development, 38 Wing Kee Road, with BDx becoming a major tenant. There is no doubt that Hong Kong will be re-industrialized, riding on the development of innotech. We believe that the opening of the data center will further advance Hong Kong’s innotech development.”

As announced, the new data center will be BDx’s fourth data center in Hong Kong and 12th in the Asia-Pacific region and it is expected to be operational by the end of 2023. As stated by the company, the new facility is designed to support hyperscale growth and connectivity, as well as to drive digital transformation.

Recently, BDx also announced its plan to develop a new 100MW hyperscale data center campus on a 12-acre site located in Suryacipta, Jakarta, Indonesia, Asia-Pacific region. As announced, the new data center campus CGK5, marks a major milestone in BDx Indonesia’s Expansion plans.
