COMPLETELY PRE-LEASED 16 MONTHS BEFORE OPENING

UK headquartered data center provider Colt Data Centre Services (DCS), has just announced the complete pre-leasing of its hyperscale data center in West Frankfurt, Germany.

With this announcement, Colt DCS has secured customer commitments for its upcoming 25.2MW data center, about 16 months before the facility is set to fully open, also bringing the site to full capacity.

“The customer commitments that we have just secured at our Frankfurt West facility is further proof that the demand for hyperscale services is showing no signs of slowing down,” said Quy Nguyen, VP Global Accounts and Solutions at Colt DCS.

“We are excited to meet these rising demands by showcasing our continued commitment to growing our hyperscale offering globally and developing tailored solutions to meet our customers’ needs. As our footing in the hyperscale market continues to expand, we look forward to cementing our position as a key player to watch within the hyperscale data center industry for years to come.”

The Frankfurt West data center will be delivering its full power capacity across 14 data halls, each expected to provide up to 1.8MW IT power. Also, this facility marks one of the largest in the European data center market and of course, expands Colt DCS footprints.

The new hyperscale facility is been developed concurrently with other Colt DCS’ hyperscale data centers around the world, which include a 100MW facility in Mumbai, India as well as a 40MW facility in Osaka, Japan.

Colt DCS first announced the West Frankfurt facility in 2019 with plans to feature over 8,000 square meters of data center floor space, and the first phase was scheduled to be available in Q4 2020. However, the company is yet to provide updates on the first phase opening, if it will be influenced by the new pre-lease deals.

Currently, Colt DCS operates over 20 carrier-neutral data centers across Europe and Asia.
