ALSO OPENED ITS FIRST ZURICH CAMPUS FACILITY

Vantage Data Centers has today announced the development of its second data center campuses in both Frankfurt and Berlin, targeting more share in the European hyperscale data center market.

As announced, Vantage has broken ground on both Frankfurt and Berlin new campuses which are expected to deliver a combined total load capacity of 72MW once completed.

In Frankfurt, Vantage has begun construction of the second campus which sits on a five-acre (two-hectare) land, located in Raunheim. This facility is designed as a five-story facility that will provide 40MW of critical IT capacity and spans over 355,000 square feet (33,000 square meters) once complete.

Vantage also stated that it will continue to develop its flagship Frankfurt campus in Offenbach which was opened about a year ago. Once fully developed, both campuses in Frankfurt are expected to offer hyperscalers, cloud providers and large enterprise customers a total IT capacity of 95MW in the Frankfurt region.

“Our new developments in Frankfurt and Berlin are testaments to our significant growth throughout EMEA in less than 24 months in the market. Our portfolio now consists of nine campuses throughout EMEA, including our recently announced development in South Africa. Demand from our customers continues to increase in these major economic centers, and our ability to scale quickly ensures our sustainable, state-of-the-art facilities will be ready to meet our customers’ business needs,” said Antoine Boniface, president, Vantage EMEA.

In Berlin, Vantage has also begun construction of a second campus which is located about 20 kilometers from its first Berlin campus site and 10 kilometers from the Brandenburg International Airport. The new 12 acre (five hectares) campus is designed to house two data center buildings and provide 32MW of critical IT capacity when completed. Both data center buildings will feature more than 260,000 square feet (24,000 square meters) of combined space spread across 3 floors of each building.

The company also added that its first Berlin campus will also be continuously expanded and once fully developed, both campuses will offer 64MW of IT capacity.

In addition, Vantage has just opened the first of four data centers on its Switzerland campus sited in Winterthur, about 25 kilometers northeast of downtown Zurich. This facility was announced last year and once fully developed, the seven-acre (three-hectare) campus will offer 40MW of IT capacity to customers.
