TO SIT ON 250,000 SQ FT OF SPACE

Real estate investment company CapitaLand India Trust Management Pte. Ltd., has just announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Telangana Government to build a new data center.

Located at the company’s International Tech Park Hyderabad (ITPH), Madhapur, the new data center is proposed to deliver 36 megawatts (MW) of load capacity and to be built on an area of approximately 250,000 SQ FT, while taking advantage of CapitaLand Group’s data center expertise.

“I am very happy to see CapitaLand India Trust invest in Telangana. Today, Hyderabad is one of the fastest growing data center markets in India and the investment adds to the pace we look to keep up. I hope to continue this relationship and hope the state can work together with CapitaLand to get not only data center investments, but also other IT and IT Enabled Services infrastructure projects to fuel the ever-growing IT industry in the state,” said Shri K.T. Rama Rao, Honorable Minister for IT, MA&UD, and Industries.

According to CLINT, the project will involve an investment of approximately INR1,200 Crores (USD $210 million) and it is to be deployed in the next 3 to 5 years. Likewise, the company intend to incorporate latest technologies in cooling and security, as well as a dedicated gas insulated substation within the site with the expectation of serving hyperscalers and large enterprises in the region.

“This is CLINT’s second data center development project in India, following our entry into India’s data center market by acquisition of a greenfield data center development site in Navi Mumbai in 2021. CapitaLand Group has been operating in the State of Telangana for almost two decades,” said Mr. Sanjeev Dasgupta, Chief Executive Officer of CLINT.

Recently, CapitaLand, acquired a hyperscale data center campus in China for RMB3.66 billion (approximately USD $565 million), precisely located in Minhang District, Shanghai. As announced, the hyperscale campus features four data center buildings with a gross floor area of about 75,000 square meters and offers up to 55MW of total IT power capacity.
