ITS FIRST CLOUD REGION IN THE COUNTRY

Google Cloud has just announced the opening of its new GCP (Google Cloud Platform) Region which is located in Tel Aviv, Israel.

The new Google Cloud Region in Tel Aviv (me-west1) now joins the Google Cloud global network, making it easier for local organizations to connect with users and customers across GCP global footprints.

“Israel is known as the startup nation, and has long been a hub of technology innovation for startups and Google alike. We’re excited to extend that innovation-first approach to other industries, accelerating digital transformation to help create new jobs and digital experiences that better serve users in Israel,” said Boaz Maoz, Country Manager, Google Cloud Israel.

“Now that the Israel cloud region is part of the Google Cloud network, it will help local organizations connect with users and customers around the globe, and help fuel innovation and digital transformation across every sector of the economy.”

The opening of the new region in Israel follows the selection of Google Cloud by the Israeli government last year – to provide cloud services to government ministries, further enabling the government, and private companies operating in regulated industries, to simplify their service delivery processes, unify approach to digital security, and support compliance and residency requirements.

To celebrate the official opening of the latest Google Cloud Region in Israel, the company plans to host an event in Tel Aviv on November 9 with a registration link for interested participants.

Google Cloud recently opened a data center region in Columbus, Ohio, enabling workload distribution across Central, Midwest, and Eastern US. The Columbus region offers immediate access to three zones or data centers, and Google Cloud’s set of products including Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, Persistent Disk, CloudSQL, and Cloud Identity. This facility also brings a second Google cloud region to the Midwest, the 10th region to North America, and raised the company’s global portfolio to 33 cloud region.
